That’s it, my friends. I hope you enjoy my bbq chicken wings recipe. They’re great for an appetizer, party platter, game day get together, or even a quick and easy dinner. Let me know if you make it. I’d love to hear how they turned out for you. Keep it spicy! As much as I love deep fried hot wings, there is something special about grilled chicken wings that makes me extra happy. Season them up, toss them on, hang out in the great weather. This recipe is called BBQ Chicken Wings with Honey-Bourbon BBQ Sauce, and I think you’re going to love it. Let’s talk about how to make bbq chicken wings, shall we?
1 cup tomato sauce (use ketchup for a sweeter version) ½ cup apple cider vinegar 1/4 cup bourbon (try it with tequila or rum instead, or use broth for a non-alcoholic version) 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 1 tablespoon cayenne 1 tablespoon smoked paprika 1 teaspoon onion powder 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon ground mustard 2 tablespoons honey (maple syrup is a nice substitution) 1/4 cup brown sugar (use less or omit for less sweet) 2 tablespoons hot sauce Salt and pepper to taste
3 pounds chicken wings separated, wing tips removed 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 tablespoon Cajun seasonings 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (use cayenne pepper for even hotter) 1 teaspoon garlic powder Salt and black pepper to taste
You can simmer longer if you’d like. Remove from heat and cool. Set aside until ready to use. I use my own homemade Cajun seasoning recipe. Toss until they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour. They should measure 165 degrees F internally. And this bbq sauce! So good. It’s one of my favorite homemade bbq sauces. I use it all the time. Got any questions?
